THE HARPER ...

Lindsey Duncan has studied, competed and performed extensively in the folk harp world both solo and in groups. She studied privately with Nancy Bick Clark and attended the Oberlin Scottish Arts School. Lindsey studied in Scotland in 2001, and again in 2002, where she attended the Edinburgh Harp Festival and studied Gaelic singing and harp at the Ullapool Feis, as well as instruction with Alison Kinnaird, Patsy Seddon and Bill Taylor, among other prominent artists in the field. Her solo performance venues include weddings, luncheons, celebratory gatherings, tours, lectures, fundraisers, holiday parties and corporate events. Lindsey has performed at the Cincinnati Celtic Music and Cultural Festival for several years as well as at other venues with trios including dulcimer, flute, recorder and violin. Lindsey has played at schools, libraries, churches, the Ohio Renaissance Festival and the Cincinnati Art Museum as a member of an early music performance group. In 2001, she began teaching beginning harp. Invited to perform at the 2003 International Folk Harp Conference as an "emerging artist," she released a CD at that event. After serving as a shadow and assistant judge for the SHSA, she judged her first competition in June of 2006. She also competed in the North American Festival of Wales Eisteddfod, the national Welsh competition, and placed first in Solo Adult Instrumental.

THE WRITER ...

Lindsey Duncan has been writing fantasy since her fingers first touched the keys at the age of eight. She has since completed several novel-length works, and edited an electronic magazine of science fiction and fantasy known as Eye Of Unicorn, Tongue Of Dragon for several years. She also has experience leading writer's groups for aspiring younger authors. She favors high fantasy mixed with a dabble of intrigue.
